The Roof Restoration Process

Welcome to All City Roof Restoration, the Roof Restoration Adelaide specialists. We are going to go through our process of roof restoration today.

The first step involves a thorough inspection, this helps us to determine the current condition of the roof structure. This also provides our roof restoration specialists with a thorough analysis of the tiles. Based on the condition of the roof and the feedback from our expert roof restoration team, we will provide you with all the restoration options available. If roof restoration is required, the process typically begins with high-pressure cleaning.

High-pressure cleaning involved removing as much of the old coating as possible along with dirt, grime, fungus, and contaminants that have built up over the years. All rainwater tanks are disconnected and tarpaulins used to cover sensitive areas or structures. The tiles are thoroughly cleaned by our roof restoration team. Once completed, gutters and downpipes are cleaned and all mess is removed carefully from the property.

At this point, any repair work on the ridge capping will proceed. Based on the condition of the roof. More information can be found in the ridge cap repair section. On completion of the ridge work, any necessary repairs are made to flashings and vents, and all broken and chipped roof tiles are replaced with tiles of similar age and condition.

The roof will now be re-washed in order to remove any construction debris. The wash is followed by another visual inspection of the whole roof to make sure all moss is removed from hard-to-reach places. Once the roof has dried sufficiently it will be treated with Dulux pre-treat solution which sterilizes any moss and fungal spores in order to prevent their regrowth under the coating.

The roof is always coated with Dulux primer to ensure any powdery oxide coating remaining on the tiles is chemically bonded to the cement substrate. Two coats of ‘Dulux-962 roof membrane’ are applied to the roof at the coverage rates specified by Dulux Acratex. Did you know a 10-year warranty is given by Dulux and All-City Roof Restorations? This covers both product and workmanship for your complete peace of mind for a decade!
